Colin Twigg
Colin, the principal of Twigg Family Law has practised as a lawyer since 1983. He has practised exclusively in Family Law since 1990 and been accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a Specialist in Family Law since 1996.
Colin's principal areas of family law practice are
- Property and financial settlements for married, de facto and same sex couples with particular expertise in those involving businesses or requiring a splitting of superannuation interests
- Custody and contact disputes
- Divorce
- Child Support
- Spousal Maintenance
- Intervention Orders
Colin has established a wealth of experience over the past 34 years which he can apply for the benefit of his clients.
Colin considers it important that clients understand the law, the system, their options and accordingly where they stand from the outset of their family law matter. When clients have a combination of that knowledge and the empathy of their lawyer for the difficult situation they find themselves in this results in the process being far easier for clients to navigate.
Colin has an affinity with the Western suburbs having grown up in Sunshine and worked almost exclusively in the west.
He has been an active member of his local community having at various times been a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Wyndham Community Foundation and Wyndham Rotary Club. He is a former Board Member and Secretary of the Committee for Wyndham and is currently Vice President of Wyndham Biznet.
Colin's interests include the Essendon Football club (although with a strong association with the Bulldogs and Werribee Football Club) and horse racing.
